Schools can recover only “Tuition fees” from students during pandemic, school staffers to get regular salary: Madhya Pradesh high court

The Madhya Pradesh high court has provided reliefs to parents and school staffers, as their order has held that the schools can recover only tuition fee from the students during the current pandemic scenario in our country.
The bench of acting Chief Justice Sanjay Yadav and justice Rajeev kumar Dubey also ordered that salaries of teaching and non-teaching staff shall be regularly paid on the due date.
The court in its order said that in order to strike a balance among the stakeholders which include students or parents, teachers and management, directed that the the students of all ranks are not deprived of the quality education/learning by adopting digital/online education platform. Though, the schools are presently closed and there are no extra-curricular activities; however the expenses of teachers, school staff should be made out as the private schools are not funded by the government. They has to maintain their expenses through the fees made by the students. In fact, the private individuals are totally dependent on fees to meet out the salaries of teaching and non teaching staffs. So, the parents shall pay the tuition fee as per the order, the fee shall not be inclusive of library fee, games fee, lab fee, computer fee and other developmental fees.
The court also clarified that the directions are issued under the unprecedented situation and will be prevalent till pandemic era and are not to be treated as precedent in future with the reservation of normalcy
