SCBA Election 2020-2021: Supreme Court Bar Association releases list of candidates:

The Supreme Court Bar Association on Saturday delivered the rundown of competitors challenging for the SCBA Elections 2020-2021 after examination.
Senior Advocates Vikas Singh, Priya Hingorani, Kailash Vasdev, Adish Chandra Agarawal and Advocates Ashok Arora and Ajay Mandyal will challenge for the post of President.
For the post of Vice President, Senior Advocates Pradeep Kumar Rai, SB Upadhyay, R Balasubramanian, Advocates DD Sharma and Shyam Sunder Gupta have recorded their nominations. In a letter dated February 10, Supreme Court Assistant Registrar Srikanth G. Pai educated the SCBA Acting Secretary with respect to the proposal of the Health Advisory Team comprised by AIIMS, to lead forthcoming decisions on online stage.

A month ago, the AIIMS Health Advisory Team had visited the Supreme Court to examine the matter with the groups of Lawyers and Supreme Court officials, after it had gotten a letter/correspondence from the Assistant Registrar of Supreme Court.
In her letter dated January 30, 2021, AIIMS Professor Dr Arti Kapil expressed, "Considering the likelihood of spread of COVID in Large gatherings and plausibility of the decisions to be led on secure online stage, it is alluring that the races are done on online stage."
The Election Committee of the SCBA has explained that the races will be held online on February 27, 2021.
