SC Seeks Centre's Response On Plea Seeking Re-Opening Of Religious Places

The Supreme Court issued a notice in plea seeking permission to open religious places that was closed due to the global pandemic. Chief justice SA Bobde, justices AS Bopanna and V. Ramasubramaniun issued notice to the Ministry of Home Affairs on the plea of 'Gitarth Ganga Trust' urging to open religious places. The plea states that it has been filed with pious objective to protect the fundamental rights mentioned under Article 14, 19(1)(a) and (b), 21,25 and 26. All religious places were closed or had very limited access for the welfare of people by following the guidelines issued by Disaster Management Act, 2005.
