RBI board reviews economic situation


On Friday, the RBI's Central Board of Directors discussed the present domestic and global economic situation and problems. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said in a statement that the board discussed various measures to address the developing difficulties. Governor Shaktikanta Das presided over the 591st meeting of the board of directors. His governorship has been extended for another three years, till December 2024. The governor was also congratulated on his reappointment, according to the central bank. According to the press release, the board also discussed the work of the central board's sub-committees and the activities of a few Central Office Departments, including a nationwide survey of bank customers on the banks' grievance redress systems and the operation of the Ombudsman schemes. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Governors Mahesh Kumar Jain, Michael Debabrata Patra, M Rajeshwar Rao, and T Rabi Sankar. N Chandrasekaran, Satish K Marathe, S Gurumurthy, and Sachin Chaturvedi, among the board's other directors, were also in attendance.
