Punjab Advocate General Atul Nanda resigns
Senior lawyer Atul Nanda has resigned from his position as the Advocate General of Punjab.
Nanda said in a letter to his colleagues that his appointment as the Advocate General coincided with the term of office of the former Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh, who stepped down yesterday.
In his letter, Nanda thanked all colleagues and junior lawyers, “They have to work long hours, weekends and holidays, often work at their own expense, prepare cases and make our office shine in court.”
Nanda in his term of office as the state highest judicial officer has always been controversial.
