Prime Minister Modi  to inaugurate  re-build Jallianwala complex



On Saturday evening , 28 August ,Prime Minister Mr .Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the renovated Jallianwala Bagh Complex in Amritsar .

The re-constructed monument was to be launched on April 13 this year, to Mark 102 years of the massacre in which 379 people had lost their lives ,but it had to be delayed owing to covid- related restrictions.

The chairperson of the Jallianwala Bagh Memorial Trust ,Modi ,in the presence of other trust members including Union culture minister G. Kishan Reddy, Punjab Chief Minister captain Amrinder Singh ,Governor VP Singh Badnore,and parliamentarians from the region will devote the memorial to the public .

The event will represent the various developmental steps taken by the government in order to upgrade the complex. An audio and light show has been organised to showcase the incidents that took place on April 13, 1919.

The entry and exit points have been changed and Lotus Pond has been built around the main Memorial. Various modern amenities have been included such as redefined paths of movement with appropriate signages; lighting of strategic spots ,landscaping and hardscaping with native plantation and installation of audio notes throughout the garden. In addition, also new areas have been made for housing the salvation ground, Amarjot and flag Mast.
