NIA summons farm union leader Baldev Singh Sirsa for questioning
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has summoned Baldev Singh Sirsa, leader of the Lok Bhalai lnsaf Welfare Society (LBIWS) on Januray 17- one among the farmers' associations partaking in talks with the Government- regarding a case against a head of Sikhs For Justice (SFJ), a prohibited Khalistani outfit.
NIA sources state he has been called as a "witness" for a case identified with terror funding.
The NIA is testing arguments against Khalistani outfits and money sent by them to some NGOs in India to actuate them to spread terror. The organization has arranged a listing of such NGOs and is examining the problem.
Lately, individuals of banned Khalistani outfits are seen at protests done by farmers' before Indian government offices within the US, Canada and the UK.
On December 12, the Union home service called for a conference of the NIA, the Enforcement Directorate, the annual duty office, the CBI and FCRA division where it was concluded that they will investigate financing related to such outfits.
