NCB seizes 23.9kg Codeine meant for supply to street children in Mumbai.
In the progressing crackdown on maltreatment of Codeine-based syrups being provided to road youngsters, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) raided a godown in Dharavi and held onto 23.9 kilograms of Codeine-based syrups.
The NCB groups, following up on a clue, struck the godown in Dharavi on Monday and discovered boxes loaded up with unlawfully secured Codeine syrups.
The two denounced who were running the stockpile from the godown were captured during the attack. They were distinguished as Siraj Ahmed and Mohd Saddam.
NCB authorities said the couple was engaged with managing of illegal medications and were headed to convey a transfer of Codeine-based hack syrup. The NCB group blocked them with 23.9kg of Codeine-based hack syrup.
Both have numerous arguments against them and are dealing with criminal indictments under 324, 326 of the IPC and other NDPS cases.
The NCB is further testing to identify mass production network or wellspring of such codeine-based hack syrups.
Maltreatment of Codeine-based syrups among road youngsters has been widespread.
A week ago, the NCB seized around 20 kilograms of Codeine-based hack syrup bottles, 450 grams of Marijuana and 56 grams of Mephedrone.
NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede had gotten data about Patri's medication module and supply of Codeine syrup to minor road kids across Central and Eastern and South Mumbai.
Patri was running his medication organisation and Codeine supply module with the assistance of 22 sellers working for him in South East and Central Mumbai.
