Mallikarjun Kharge to replace Ghulam Nabi as Leader of Opposition, Congress to inform Rajya Sabha
Veteran Congress pioneer Mallikarjun Kharge is good to go to be the Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha following the exit of another veteran Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Congress has picked Mallikarjun Kharge as Ghulam Nabi Azad's substitution. Congress will advise the Rajya Sabha director on the arrangement.
Ghulam Nabi Azad was among the four individuals in the Rajya Sabha who resigned on Tuesday. Azad was given an enthusiastic goodbye by the House and PM Modi, who broke into tears while stacking acclaims on the Congress chief.
In his discourse, PM Modi said it would be hard for anybody to fill the shoes of Ghulam Azad as he thought often about his political alliance as well as about the country and Rajya Sabha.
Ghulam Nabi Azad and Nazir Ahmed Laway (PDP) will resign on February 15 while the terms of Mir Mohammad Fayaz (PDP) and Shamsher Singh Manhas (BJP) will end on February 10.
