Laws to Constitute National Commissions for Homeopathy and Indian Medicine get Presidential Assent.

The President of Indian Ram Nath Kovind has give his assent to National Commission for Homeopathy Bill and National Commission for Indian Systems of Medicine Bill, passed by Parliament. Both the Acts are notified in the Gazette and will come into force at a later date. The National Commission for Homeopathy Act, will repeal the Homeopathy Central Council Act, 1973 to set up a National Commission for Homeopathy while the other Act will repeal the Indian Medicine Central Council Act, 1970 and set up a National Commission for Indian Medicine.
The Act proposes to conduct a national Eligibility-Cum-Entrance test and Post-Graduate National Entrance Test for admission to under-graduate and post-graduate course in each of the disciplines of the Indian System of Medicine education and Homeopathy education in all medical institutions regulated by the Act.
