Justice UU Lalit, a Supreme Court justice, flags off the 'Ride for Legal Awareness' bike rally in Ladakh.



The "Ride for Legal Awareness" was launched in Ladakh by Justice UU Lalit, who is also the Executive Chairperson of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA). Under the supervision of Ladakh Legal Services Authority (LLSA) and under the aegis of NALSA in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kargil and Ladakh adventure sports for legal awareness, the ride was organised as part of a pan India awareness and outreach campaign in celebration of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav'.
There will be 22 riders that will journey 150 kilometres through Drass, Battalik, Chiktan, and Wakha. A group of 20 bikes, led by advocate Asgar Yarkin, will travel 30 kilometres from TFC Kargil to Ashina hamlet, passing through 4 or 5 villages along the way. Their goal will be to reach out to the tribal settlements and residents of the district's interior. Volunteers will distribute brochures giving information on the beneficiaries under the Legal Services Authorities Act during this legal awareness ride.
Justice DS Thakur, Executive Chairman of LLSA, Justice Tashi Rabstan, Chairman of the High Court Legal Services Committee, Justice Tashi Rabstan, Member Secretary of NALSA Ashok Jain, Director NALSA Puneet Sehgal, Member Secretary of LLSA MK Sharma, as well as officers from Ladakh's administration and judiciary, were present at the flagging off ceremony.
