Justice Hima kohli sworn in as the first Woman Chief Justice of Telangana High Court
Justice Hima Kohli was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court. Telangana governor Dr. Tamilisai Sounderarajan administered the oath at a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad.
The Telangana high court has got its first woman Chief Justice by appointing Hima Kohli in the prescribed post.
The union ministry of law and justice notified the appointment of the Justice Kohli, who was a former judge of Delhi High Court and now, she is the woman Chief Justice of the Telangana high court. The ministry appointed justice Kohli, by accepting the recommendations made by the Supreme Court collegium.
Chief Justice Hima Kohli takes over the position of Chief Justice Raghvendra Singh Chouhan, who has been transferred as the Chief Justice of Uttarakhand high court. Kohli, is the only woman Chief Justice in the country at present out of total 25 high courts in India.
Justice Hima Kohli was enrolled as an advocate in the Bar council of India. She was appointed as an additional judge of the High Court of Delhi.
