Imposition of State emergency in Uttar Pradesh seeks SC

The SC along with the central government is seeking direction in imposition of State emergency under article 364 of the constitution of India moved by advocate CR Jaya Sukin.

To take out this case, Mr. Sukin referred cases like hathras gang rape case, illegal detention of Dr. Kafeel khan, Unnao rape case, etc. The plea also included that the state of UP has been working in whimsical and unfair manner for a long time, against the principles of Natural Justice.

Inter Alia, Mr. Sukin has pointed out the following shortcomings in the administration like Torture by prison officials, Rising crimes against Dalits, Unsafe state for women, Unchecked Honour killings, Frequent Mob lynching, and many more.

Mr Sukin wants invocation of State emergency as earliest as possible with immediate effect.
