If a house is used for liquor storage, the Bihar government will seal it
The Nitish Kumar government has approved a proposal to seal warehouses or any other premises used for storage, production, sale, import and export of liquor in Bihar in order to implement a liquor ban. Furthermore, if anyone uses a section of a house for liquor storage or consumption (House Bar), the state government will seal that portion and auction it off.
On Tuesday evening, a cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar approved an amendment to the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016.The Nitish Kumar government, on the other hand, has exempted liquor storage in military cantonments. The sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages is restricted to military personnel and officials within the cantonment area. Anyone who buys liquor from a military canteen and then takes it outside is subject to prosecution under the existing liquor prohibition act. Ex-army personnel are also prohibited from storing liquor in their homes in civil areas.
