Hindustan Aeronautics completes LSTT for DGCA Certification
The Hindustan -228 aircraft has successfully completed the ground run and low speed taxi trials (LSTT) on Sunday for DGCA type certification, said Hindustan Aeronautics on Monday .
"This is a major milestone for the first fixed-wing made-in-India civil aircraft in India", said the CEO of HAL's accessories complex Mr.Sajal Prakash adding that it is process to strengthen the air connectivity .
Indranil chakraborty, director, DGCA observed that the type certification will also help HAL in getting International certification for the aircraft. The aircraft also fulfills the latest FAR -23 certification requirements informed HAL. It also that it's Kanpur division of transport aircraft has been indulged in the business of transport and trainer Aircraft for defence customers.
The Hindustan- 228 is a 19- seater multi purpose utility aircraft manufactured for various uses like air ambulance, cloud seeding, VIP transport, passenger transport, para jumping ,photography ,cargo applications etc.
The aircraft will also support the regional connectivity scheme (UDAN) of the centre and this could also be used by civil operators and state governments for connectivity ,training, maintenance and Logistics.
