Facilitate Return Of 36 Foreigners who were acquitted this statement asked by the Supreme Court to centre for Tablighi jamaat

On Friday, the Supreme Court asked the centre to assist foreign national to head back to their countries after being absolved of all charges for allegedly flouting covid -19 relating guidelines by participating in the Tablighi jamaat congregation at Delhi ' Nizamuddin .
A bench of Justice AM Khanwilkar , BR Gavai and Krishna murari asked the government to facilitate Return Of 36 foreign national after taking on record their applications. The bench stated that the same may be done by government appointed nodal officers.
At this juncture the court noted the assurance provided by solicitor general Tushar mehta that any foreign national who has been exonerated has may difficulty in travelling back their lawyers may get in touch with his office for assistance.

Firstly, The court further noted that the aforementioned observation would not came in the way of the concerned department, if they intend to question the correctness of the acquittal . The bench said that subject to that , the representation can be taken forward by the Nodal officers expeditiously.
