FACEBOOK REMOVES PAGES LINKED TO STEVE BANNON FOR PUSHING MISINFORMATION ABOUT ELECTION

On monday Trump's strategist steve bannon told false information about the presidential election . The facebook company has removed around 7 pages which support or had hastags on steeve bannon.

Most of those pages had around a following of roughly 2.5 million people.
Facebook's spokesperson Andy Stone said that “We’ve removed several clusters of activity for using inauthentic behavior tactics to artificially boost how many people saw their content that includes a group that was originally named Stop the Steal, which later became Gay Communists for Socialism and misled people about its purpose using deceptive tactics".

On tuesday facebook removed the largest facebook group stop the steal it had around and attracted more than 320,000 followers in less than 24 hours.
These groups popped u when the Avaaz, a progressive nonprofit that monitors digital disinformation, contacted the social network about their proliferation.

A spokesperson for Bannon did not immediately respond to a request for comment.Tweeter spokesman said that "The @WarRoomPandemic account has been permanently suspended for violating the Twitter Rules, specifically our policy on the glorification of violence".Bannon, 66, lost his job at the White House eight months after Trump’s inauguration. In August, he was arrested on charges of defrauding donors to a campaign to privately fund a wall on the US border with Mexico, one of Trump’s signature political promises.
