17 oct 2020
The Goa government has decided to invest in cluster development plans under the Regeneration of traditional industries in order to generate employment. The government is looking for more village-level scaling of work opportunities after heavy dependence on mining. Clusters can be of paddy processing, food processing through pottery, whole chilis, etc. Through the 'village model', the help of village panchayats would be taken. The inclusion of youth would help in more innovation, skill and better growth of the economy. The government is looking forward to evolving new sectors. Cluster scheme plan can help bridge the gap in the state's job market. Goa was the first state open industry that is still functional with many employees even after getting infected with COVID-19.
