Delhi Rapist released from prison last year intends to marry the woman he raped and then murders her for'revenge.'
A 24-year-old man claims he took his wife to Nainital and strangled her to death before pushing her down the hill. The accused was apprehended in Dwarka by police. According to police, the accused was identified as Rajesh Roy, who allegedly murdered his wife for harassing him.
Uma (name changed) had accused him of raping her after promising her marriage in June of last year. Rajesh was arrested and taken to Tihar Jail as a result. Later, in order to avoid punishment, he signed an affidavit stating that he will marry her. But he was dissatisfied with the marriage. The storey took an unexpected turn in mid-June of this year, when Uma's family members reported her missing to the Dwarka police station in Delhi. After receiving the complaint, the police sprang into action to find her.
The Delhi Police investigation revealed that Rajesh persuaded Uma to accompany him to Nainital. The couple left the hill station on July 12. “He expressed his desire to have a physical relationship with his wife in a secluded location about 13 kilometres from Nainital. He led her into a cave. He strangled his wife after having sex,” Tallital SHO Vijay Mehta of Nainital was quoted as saying in the report.Rajesh led the investigators to the location where he had disposed of his wife's body. Under the Indian Penal Code, he has been charged with murder and causing the disappearance of evidence.
This is not the first time a rapist has been released from prison and punishment under the guise of marrying the victim, only to return to commit the heinous crime for'revenge.
