On Wednesday, Delhi has witnessed the highest single - day COVID-19 cases due to which The Delhi high Court has asked the Kejriwal government after a rapid spike in COVID-19 cases in the national capital in recent weeks, why did it waited until the the court to take the steps such as reducing the number of people attending weddings by 50 to prevent the spread of COVID-19. A petition was filled by Justice Rakesh Malhotra asking to increase the number of COVID-19 testing in the national capital. The hearing of this petition was by the division bench of Hima Kohli and Subramanium.The court said: “The bell should have rung loud and clear when the numbers were spiralling. Why did you not wake up when you saw the situation was deteriorating? The Delhi Government should understand the testing through RAT is not fulfilling the purpose. There is a need to increase the testing through RT-PCR.”
Justice Hima Kohli stated that is so disheartened to see the climb in the number of death. She also stated that looking at the current situation as the per the senior Advocate statement 750 ICU beds will be made available.
Advocate is Satyakam said the order of 80%of ICU beds order is in the private hospital there was a second wave. The court has asked the government to give a detail report over the condition and ensure adequate arrangements at the crematorium for performing the last rites.
