Collegium recommends re-transfer of Justice Joymalya Bagchi from Andhra Pradesh High Court to Calcutta High Court



The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended that Justice Joymalya Bagchi to be transferred from the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, where he currently works, to its parent High Court of Calcutta.
The decision was made at a quorum meeting held on September 16.
"The High Court of the College in its meeting on September 16, 2021 recommended the return of Mr. Judge Joymalya Bagchi, judge of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, to the court of Calcutta,"

Judge Bagchi was transferred to the Andhra Pradesh High Court in January this year.
Judge Bagchi graduated in 1991 with a law degree and practiced before the High Court of Calcutta.
He was appointed a Justice of the High Court of Calcutta in June 2011, where he served until his transfer to the High Court of Andhra Pradesh earlier this year.
