CM Advocates Welfare Scheme: Delhi Govt Approves Over Rs. 40 Crore To Provide Insurance To Advocates

The Delhi Government has recently approved the Chief Minister Advocate Welfare Scheme, announced by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal last year. On Friday, the Law minister had announced that under the scheme the Government has approved a budget of around 40 crore rupees to provide group life insurance of Rs. 10,00,000 per advocate and group medical insurance to resident-Advocates. The group medical insurance will cover the advocates, their spouse and two dependent children unto the age of 25 years, for a sum of Rs. 5,00,000. Around 29077 advocates are eligible to avail the scheme. Top private insurance companies, such as New India Insurance and Oriental Insurance, will provide the medical insurance, with the premium being paid by the Delhi Government. The Life Insurance Corporation of India will provide life insurance as per the rates approved by the court
