China’s Defence Ministry offers support in safeguarding Nepal’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.

China’s Defence Minister, Gen. Wei Fenghe, has said that China will offer support to Nepal in safeguarding its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity as Nepal has firmly pursued the One-China policy.
Mr. Wei met Nepal's Prime Minister, K. P. Sharma Oli, and had a meeting with the Army Chief, General Purna Chandra Thapa.
Under the One-China policy, Beijing insists other countries recognize Taiwan and Tibet as part of China and stop Tibetans in Nepal from going to India to meet Dalai Lama as it views him to be a separatist working to split Tibet from China.
Mr. Wei’s visit did not receive much coverage in the Chinese state media.
In the first week of November, India had tried to resolve issues between them and Nepal after fights over borders.
