Building collapse in Delhi: 20 structures in the same area have been identified as 'dangerous.

The four-story building in North Delhi that collapsed on Monday (September 13), killing two children, was around 50 to 60 years old and had not been declared dangerous, despite the fact that nine other buildings of similar vintage on the same street had been declared dangerous.

"Nine of the 20 buildings declared dangerous are located on the same street as this," the official said.

However, this particular structure was not labelled as dangerous.

Meanwhile, the North MCD has directed all zonal authorities to appoint zonal engineers to conduct a re-evaluation of the conditions of already declared dangerous buildings and to take immediate action.The Delhi police, on the other hand, have filed a FIR under Section 304 of the IPC in the building collapse incident, and an investigation is underway, according to a senior police official.
