Boris Johnson reveals a 3-tier Lockdown Plan
13 oct 2020
On Monday, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson revealed a new system that will categorize England into "medium, high, or very high" alert levels based on their coronavirus transmission rate. He said that these categories are going to "simplify and standardize" the existing lockdown policies.
The medium alert level is the lowest alert degree that involves the prevailing lockdown measures. The high alert level will include the existing restrictions together with stricter bans. The "very high alert level" will be observed in places with the maximum transmission rate. Liverpool falls into the "very high alert" category.
These new rules will be debated in the House of Commons today before coming into effect from tomorrow.
