Bombay High Court hears plea filed by Varavara Rao’s wife, advocate says activist’s health improving
The Bombay High Court heard the plea filed by the wife of activist-poet Varavara Rao, an accused in the Bhima Koregaon case. A bench of Justices S.S. Shinde and M.S. Karnik had in the last hearing extended Rao’s stay in Nanavati Hospital till today. Rao’s wife filed the plea seeking the court’s intervention in the alleged infringement of Rao’s fundamental right to health. An application seeking interim bail on medical grounds will also be heard on Monday. The Court enquired about Rao’s health, to which Senior Advocate Anand Grover informed that his health is improving. Advocate Sandesh Patil, appearing for the National Investigation Agency, informed the court that ASG Anil Singh is busy in another court and seeks passover.
