Arnab Goswami moves Supreme Court against High Court order refusing Interim relief in 2018 Suicide Case

On Tuesday, Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the Government of Maharashtra, Mumbai Ploce, Central Government, and others.
He filed the petition after the Bombay High Court refused to grant him interim relief in connection with the 2018 abetment to suicide case.
The High Court asked him to address a lower court to ask for bail, after which Arnab filed a bail plea before a Raigad Sessions Court.
Last week, Mumbai Police arrested Gowswami and two others concerning the death of interior designer Anvay Naik, who allegedly died by suicide in Alibaug in May 2018. A suicide note said to be written by Naik claimed Goswami to be the reason for his death as he had not paid him his dues.
In Sept 2020, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had ordered a re-investigation into the case after a fresh complaint by Naik's daughter.
