An urgent application has been filed by the Association for Democratic Reforms before the Supreme Court seeking the hearing of the PIL on the issue of the Electoral Bonds scheme, in light of the upcoming Bihar Elections.

Advocate Prashant Bhushan, who is representing the ADR, has raised the issue of "corruption and subversion of democracy through illicit & foreign funding of political parties and lack of transparency in the accounts of all political parties."
He has opposed the opening of the window for selling electoral bonds right before the Bihar legislative elections.
He also observed that as per Government notifications itself, the sale of electoral bonds is to be conducted in January, April, July, and October each year. However, this year, it was not opened in April and July but directly in October before the Bihar elections
