"Government to hold spectrum auction on 1 March; invites applications".
Today The department of telecommunications (DoT) said on an note that the government would be conducting the auction for radiowaves worth ₹3.92 lakh crore on March 1st. In that notice they have also mentioned that it would carry out only single auction to assign spectrum blocks. The telecom department have invited eligible bidders to participate in the auction. They have also stated that they will pre-qualify the application before the sales of the radio airwaves.The last auction was held in October 2016 and bids worth around ₹65,789 crore were received at the end of 31 rounds for 965MHz of spectrum out of total 2354.55MHz put for auction. There was no bidder for the 700 MHz then as of now Telecom Regulatory Authority of India had to lower the prices of most of the bands.
