"Attempt To Make NLSIU From Island of Exclusion": Former NLSIU VC Venkata Rao Moves SC Challanging NLAT 2020

. Venkata Rao, former vice chancellor of NLSIU approached to the Supreme Court challanging the decision of NLSIU to hold a separate entrance exam for this year. The plea states that such 'unilateral decision' hampered students. It is violating the fundamental rights (Article 14, 21).

NLSIU has already released the technical requirements for taking NLAT 2020 and also mandated a computer system or laptop with minimum 1 Mbps bandwidth. This is an unreasonable obligation upon candidates as many of them are poor, less privileged.

The plea also included various important factors, such as As a part of the consortium, NLSIU is not allowed to conduct exams separately as it is against the rules and regulations. In case of home proctored tests, many options are available to cheat.
